Il est né le Divin Enfant is an 18th-century traditional French Christmas carol rooted in French religious tradition. This enduring carol celebrates the Nativity, interweaving sacred imagery with rural French elements—evoking village instruments like the oboe (le hautbois) and bagpipes (la musette) alongside humble stable imagery. The joyful refrain reinforces themes of faith and celebration, presenting the birth of the Divine Child as a moment of shared celebration, faith, and hope during the Christmas season.
